Your first stop is Red Square, which you’ll enter through Resurrection Gate before feasting your eyes on Kazan’s Cathedral and St. Basil’s Cathedral, both crowned by a colorful confection of onion domes.
See, too, GUM, the 123-year-old department store and hear about the terrible fate of architect Postnik Yakovlev, blinded by Ivan the Terrible to prevent the duplication of visual beauty.
Then, you’ll make the short journey to the Kremlin by foot. We will explore the heart of Moscow and most important landmark of the whole country – the Moscow Kremlin. We will enjoy by the stunning views of the Kremlin’s territory and marvel at the ornate designs of the Assumption Cathedral, the Archangel’s Cathedral, and the Annunciation Cathedral. Tsar Cannon and Tsar Bell will impress you with their immensity, as well as Ivan the Great Bell Tower – the tallest one in the Moscow Kremlin complex. If we have enough time, we will complete the day with the view to marvelous Christ the Savior Cathedral from Patriarch Bridge.
